Alcazar Show in Pattaya and Its Difference from Tiffany and Colosseum

Alcazar show in Pattaya Thailand

What would Thailand be without a transvestite show? Indeed, you can see this unforgettable spectacle at any major resort in the country, including Bangkok or Phuket. In this article, we’ll discuss in more detail about the Alcazar Show in Pattaya and its main competitors, Tiffany and Colosseum.

What Is the Show About?

Alcazar Show Thailand (Alcazar or Alkazar Show) is a transvestite show, which is basically a theatrical performance featuring dancing, singing, and skits depicting scenes from life, all performed by men dressed as women (actually, not just men dressed as women, like in Japan—here it’s men who’ve physically become women).

Main entrance

The show has about 18 acts without any hint of lewdness or sex, so you can even attend it with children.
The Alcazar, Colosseum (Coliseum or Colosseum), and Tiffany shows are practically the same in content, as all their acts aim to showcase Thai culture and history. The main difference is that you can take pictures at Alcazar while it’s not allowed during performances at Tiffany. Colosseum is simply located in another area of Pattaya.

Performers on stage

By the way, at the Tiffany show, there are special facilities for those who want private time with a ladyboy, but that falls into the realm of the forbidden.

After the performance, you can take photos (of course, not for free).

Photo souvenir

The transvestite shows began in Bangkok in 1981, and by 1990, Alcazar had taken root in Pattaya.

Show Times

The Alcazar Show in Pattaya runs daily: on weekdays there are four performances, and on weekends, two.

The schedule is as follows:

  • The first show starts at 5:00 PM, and the last one at 9:30 PM.
  • The performance lasts about 70–80 minutes.
  • On weekends, shows run at 5:00 PM and 11:00 PM.

Ticket Prices

Tickets for the Alcazar Show in Pattaya come in different price categories. If you buy them from a travel agency, you may pay 15–20% more than the box-office price.

Ticket prices are 500 baht for a regular seat, and 750 baht for a VIP seat. The VIP section is closer to the stage.

However, bear in mind that the stage is raised quite high, so if you’re in the first three rows, you may need to crane your neck a bit to see the performers.

How to Get There?

Thailand’s Alcazar Show is located on Second Road, and you can get there on almost any songthaew heading that way (for details about the routes, read our guide). The theater building is easy to spot and is located between Soi 5 and Soi 6 on the right side if you head toward the dolphin circle (since Second Road has one-way traffic, you can’t go wrong).

The address is shown on the map below.

So, Pattaya definitely has something to see, especially in the evening. A small bonus can be found at the end of this video:

Many tourists ask, “Which show is better: Tiffany, Alcazar, or Colosseum?” As mentioned above, there’s not much difference, except Alcazar and Colosseum allow filming during the performance while Tiffany doesn’t. Choose whichever is closer to you—you won’t go wrong. They all have similarly positive reviews.
