The scenery is beautiful but the beach is overrun. 80 is closed off for boats and the corners reserved for swimming. With the amount of boats that come daily the water has a constant oil film at the top.
But it is still beautiful and worth seeing. Pictures from the morning and afternoon to see the difference when it's empty and full

One of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever been to! I loved riding the boat into the beach and seeing the huge rock cliff faces. The sand on the beach was nice, and the sunset was spectacular. I highly recommend coming to visit this beach.

The beach and its surroundings are lively, there are places to buy mini gifts. Nail, hair care, exchanges and massage parlors, which are common in Thailand, are available in the vicinity.

Enjoyed our visit even though the weather didn't play ball. We sat & watched some rock climbing for a bit, spent time on one of the many beaches, even watched monkeys in the trees.Plenty of restaurants & bars to keep us happy. Loved the boat ride 😁

Railay Beach is truly a wonderful place whose magic remains unspoiled even at peak-season crowds. It consistently ranks among the top beaches in Krabi. This stretch of coastline, over half a kilometer long, is framed by limestone cliffs. If you ever get tired of the sun, you can easily head to the nearby cafés and shops. This location is also perfect for those who enjoy more active pursuits like rock climbing. Our European friends even noted a resemblance to Rio de Janeiro.
The key feature: Railay Beach is one of the best rock climbing destinations in Thailand, with routes suitable for both beginners and experienced climbers.
Some parts of the beach have patches of sand covered by soft green grass, adding a fresh touch to your photos—especially when framed by natural beauty or traditional Thai long-tail boats called Rua Hang Yao, which locals use for ferrying and fishing.
We recommend heading out there early in the morning. Although public transport—those traditional boats—starts at 9:00 a.m., you can privately arrange an earlier crossing. It only takes a few minutes from Ao Nang, and you’ve arrived. If you don’t plan to stay overnight, remember that the last boats leave around 6:00 p.m.
As for local wildlife, you’ll often see crab-eating macaques (though in my opinion, they’ll eat just about anything) and lizards.
From Railay Beach, you can get to Phra Nang Cave Beach. This wondrous natural spot boasts white sands, azure waters, and breathtaking caves.
A personal tip: if you plan on exploring the area’s natural wonders, be sure to bring closed, comfortable shoes and drinking water. Definitely avoid going in the rain.
There are several trails for exploring, and they’re not always the easiest. Many people mention the path leading to the Viewpoint. You’ll be climbing up with the help of ropes, so carefully assess your abilities before you go. Those who venture up the mountain will be rewarded with a stunning panorama.
From there, you can continue to the trail heading down to the Lagoon. If you decide to go, prepare for a steep descent and an equally tough climb back up. During hot seasons, the lagoon often dries up, leaving mostly mud—which might not be the highlight you were hoping for.

A really good 2 km long beach that has attractions that should suit all manner of tastes, old and young.
The beach itself is mainly clean and firm and good for walking or swimming in the ocean.
Across the road is a wide range of entertainment, restaurants, bars and activities.
A good friendly atmosphere most of the time and at most places.
A great place to take spectacular sunset pictures.

This beach is heavily polluted. The constant boat traffic dumps motor oil into the water and smoke into the air, not to mention it is so loud you can't hear the ocean. The canal of waste water from the town dumps directly onto the beach. The water is black and obviously putrid, yet unobservant tourists still swim in the water right next to where the toxic canal water enters the ocean. The smell is so strong I don't understand how they don't notice. If you like nature, go somewhere else.

Ao Nang Beach is absolutely stunning! The golden sands, clear waters, and vibrant atmosphere make it a perfect place to unwind. The nightlife here is incredible, with the fire shows being the absolute highlight—so mesmerizing and relaxing. A must-visit destination for both day and night!

As you’ve probably gathered, Krabi is a region that perfectly represents this country’s typical landscapes. Combined with gorgeous beaches, the result is a truly paradise-like experience.
One of Ao Nang Beach’s most unique features is the so-called “Monkey Trail,” which connects Ao Nang Beach to Pai Plong Beach. This scenic route winds through tropical forest and rocky terrain, offering a chance to spot numerous wild monkeys. The trail itself is an attraction, letting tourists observe local wildlife and enjoy stunning views of the Andaman Sea.
We simply can’t skip the main tourist hub of the province: Ao Nang Beach.
You’ll find numerous hotels, restaurants, shops, and tour agencies offering excursions to nearby islands—a great launchpad for exploring the area.
It’s perfect for those who like to mix beach relaxation with nightlife, which makes Ao Nang the most popular and hence most crowded.
In our opinion, the fire show at Ao Nang Landmark Beach is the best we’ve seen so far.
And as for sunsets, they are absolutely breathtaking here.
The beach itself is about 1.5 km long, quite spacious, with pleasant sand—although it can be not entirely clean at times.
For variety, you can try out one or two water sports.
Just AMAZING. Clear green water, unbelievably high and beautiful cliffs, different sized island, great sand 🏝️
Even though today was cloudy with no sun, it was stunning. I’m sure it’s even more beautiful when the sun is shining ✨
Way better than Rayleigh Beach.

This is one of the most beatific beaches in Thailand we have ever seen. Clean water, beautiful natural landscapes, not crowded. We like this beach more than Railay though it is more popular and advertised among tourists.
One of the few minuses is that there is no toilet at the beach directly, you need to go outside of the beach to find it and pay 10 baht. And be cautious with monkeys on the beach.
I recommend walking about 100 metres from the entrance to the beach, there is an area with plenty of shade

Beautiful beach, so much better than west railay. However, tourists have no respect for the land and there is trash all over and they trample the beach "grass" (vining flowers) that helps protect the beach. I was livid watching a bunch of people stomp all over it so they could harass the monkeys in the trees. People were going into the tree area with sticks and bananas and I honestly was hoping they'd get bit 🤷♀️ it's really disappointing to see a beautiful place treated so poorly. There is coral there if you have a snorkel and some cool fish/crabs but there's trash in the coral too... Sigh.
Lots of monkeys at the very beginning but it's worth it to walk all the way down where it's less crowded. Recommend arriving before 10am.

Absolutely beautiful place. Saw a Monitor lizard just strolling besides us and posing for pictures. The limestone caves are well preserved and it looks majestic. The beach at the end of the trail near the temple was beautiful with clear waters and white sands. Should definitely visit the place. There was no crowd when we reached there so it was great visit.

Phra Nang Beach is a stunning heavan in the south of Railay that truly captures the essence of tropical paradise! The soft, white sand and crystal-clear waters create an inviting atmosphere for swimming and sunbathing. The dramatic limestone cliffs surrounding the beach provide a breathtaking backdrop, while the nearby cave shrine adds a unique cultural touch. Whether you’re seeking relaxation or adventure, Phra Nang Beach is a must-visit spot that left me in awe.

Phra Nang Beach (also spelled “Pra Nang”) is among the most beautiful and secluded beaches in Krabi. It’s surrounded by towering cliffs and famous caves, making it an ideal spot for snorkeling and exploring marine life.
You can visit the Princess Pranang (Phra Nang Noi) Cave. As the name suggests, the cave is dedicated to the fertility goddess Pranang. The cave itself is small and might seem unremarkable at first glance. However, for the locals, it’s a Lingam Shrine. A lingam symbolizes the Hindu god Shiva and visually represents the male reproductive organ. Fishermen visit to pray before heading out to sea, while women come seeking a good husband or a long-awaited pregnancy. There’s a tradition here: you must offer a decorated phallus with ribbons and flowers, fold your hands near your chin as a sign of reverence, and bow. We hope your wishes are granted!
The beach itself is small, located close to Railay Beach. As mentioned above, it attracts visitors with its stunning caves and crystal-clear water. People who’ve been there tend to describe it in unison as an absolutely amazing place.
Top view aerial shot of the tropical coastline with blue sea, beautiful rocks and a lot of boats
We encountered monkeys and a small monitor lizard there.
Drawbacks: Difficult access, limited infrastructure, and peak-season crowds.
The cave is filled with all sorts of phallic symbols, varying in size, color, and material.
What intrigued us most were the legends. According to one story, a shipwreck occurred near the island, and an Indian princess named Pranang died. Her spirit then took up residence in the cave. Another version says Pranang was an ordinary fisherman’s wife who lived in love and happiness. One day, her husband didn’t return from fishing. She waited for him in this very cave, and eventually, in her grief, threw herself from the cliff.

A very nice beach. Pretty peaceful, few boats and it was easy to avoid the music from one beach bar. Mostly sandy and shallow bottom, great at high tide and still beautiful at low tide.

Beautiful, quiet beach. White sand and plenty of restaurant / food choices along the beach. Highly recommend this beach. Even when we went to other beaches we kept comparing it back to Tubkaek. Lovely view of all the little islands out in the distance.
Only thing I'd mention is the tide (high/low) check the tide before you go. Posted pictures of high and low tide. Luckily for us it was high tide at 11 and by 3.30 it was turning to low tide. You have to walk quite a bit out to swim.
Will definitely return here during our week stay.

Tabkaak Beach in Krabi is an absolute must-visit for anyone seeking breathtaking scenery in Thailand. Whether you're a photographer, a couple looking for a romantic evening, or simply a traveler wanting a peaceful escape, Tabkaak Beach is the ideal place to unwind. Beautiful beach, very quiet with a handful of bars serving excellent drinks and food. Yes, at low tide the sea goes out, but at high tide it's very good for swimming and just beautiful. If concerned just google the tide times before you go. I have shown pictures of the tide high and low, both are stunning.

Tub Kaek Beach is a quiet and peaceful spot.
Tub Kaek Beach became famous thanks to the film “The Hangover Part II,” which used the beach and Phulay Bay Resort for a wedding scene, drawing attention to this gorgeous and secluded spot.
It’s suitable for family vacations. Here, you can enjoy privacy and stunning views, surrounded by mangrove forests that offer a breathtaking sunset panorama.
You won’t find any coral in the water, and it’s quite shallow. We weren’t too impressed during low tide, but we definitely caught the relaxing vibe.
Expect to relax under palm trees and lush greenery, go swimming, take scenic walks, and soak up the beautiful views.

Nice stretch of mostly sandy beach with few pebbles. Lots of restaurants, bars, massage shops on and around the beach. As further as you go left, away from the main area, there are small sandy land pockets that are revealed only while on low tide, therefore much quieter, cleaner and with lots of wildlife. Overall it is a nice beach, only tarnished by lots of random piles of garbage and some broken bottles and shards of glasses

A great beach with not too many people. The sand is pleasant, and the water gradually deepens, making it perfect for visiting with kids. There’s also plenty of space to park your car or bike, which is really convenient.

One of the best beaches near Ao Nang, you can take a Grab/Bolt and arrive in 20 minutes. You'll find a long sandy beach, with crystal clear water 🏖. Is waaay better than Aonang beach. Plenty of space all day long and breathtaking sunsets. A must see when in Krabi.

Klong Muang Beach is another secluded spot in Krabi, offering excellent conditions for a peaceful vacation. There are also a few interesting hotels and restaurants here, making it ideal for a laid-back holiday.
Klong Muang is renowned for its luxurious resorts and beachfront restaurants. High-end hotels like Dusit Thani Krabi Beach Resort and Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra Golf and Spa Resort line the shore, offering top-notch comfort and magnificent views of the Andaman Sea. In the northern part of the beach, you’ll find cozy bars and restaurants where you can dine at sunset, often accompanied by live music.
The beach is long, sandy, and fairly wide.
What can you do here? It’s simple: swim, stay at local hotels, go for walks, or dine out. Compared to Ao Nang, it definitely has fewer entertainment options.
