When vacationing in Thailand, immersing yourself in the seaside ambiance is a must – and few experiences capture that spirit like the Phuket Dolphinarium, where dolphins and a pair of sea lions deliver a spectacular performance.
General Information
The dolphinarium show first appeared in Phuket relatively recently, around 2015, and has already become popular among vacationing tourists. Reviews are overwhelmingly positive — after all, who wouldn’t love a dolphin or a sea lion?
The Phuket Dolphinarium, also known as the Dolphinarium Nemo Phuket Show, is set up in an open-air venue without walls. Within a spacious tent, a pool and roughly 1,000 seats are arranged to provide a panoramic view of the performance.
Show
Phuket Dolphinarium Nemo offers its guests the following entertainment program:
- The show opens with the sea lions, who perform several ball exercises, spin hoops, and execute a variety of tricks.
- The performance continues with the dolphins, who play with balls, catch hoops, dance, and even ride on their trainer’s nose.
At the end, visitors are invited to take a few photos with their own cameras and even swim with the dolphins — though not for free, of course. Swimming with the dolphins in the pool is both fun and exhilarating. These intelligent creatures impress with their responsiveness and affection, making a visit to this attraction well worth the price.
The dolphinarium show appeals not only to children but also to adults. Although it doesn’t feature larger animals such as orcas, it does include a beluga whale and several sea lions, delivering an outstanding performance.
Prices
The prices here, unlike those at the Phuket Zoo, are quite affordable and are divided into three zones:
- VIP (Rows 1–2) — 1,250 baht for adults / 750 baht for children.
- Deluxe (Rows 3–5) — 1000 baht for adults / 650 baht for children.
- Standard (Rows 6–7) — 750 baht for adults / 600 baht for children.
This seating classification is quite flexible, as even from the very back, you can enjoy a good view of the entire performance, making it possible to experience a magnificent show on a budget.
Tickets can be purchased directly at the venue, at a tourist information center, or by calling the phone number provided on the official website. As of 2025, the prices remain unchanged from the previous year. (Note: please check for any last-minute updates before your visit.)
In addition to the entry ticket, you can purchase the right to have your photo or video taken with the dolphins on stage — for only 500 baht (limited to a maximum of four people per photo). Swimming and diving with the animals is pricier — at 6,500 baht per person. If you have the budget, it’s well worth trying to swim with the dolphins; their playful antics will charm even the most reserved traveler.
The swim lasts 20 minutes, and the price includes video and photography taken by your companions. The pool is 3 meters deep, and if you can’t swim, you’ll be provided with a life jacket.
There are opportunities to receive discounts, including:
- If you arrive independently by car or scooter — 10% off;
- If you book within three days of your visit — 15% off;
- For group visits — pay for 10 people and the 11th is free;
- If you have a Thai driver’s license — 15% off.
Show Schedule:
From Tuesday to Sunday (closed on Monday), there are three shows at 11:00, 14:00, and 17:00.
How to Get There
So, how can you reach the Phuket Dolphinarium using various methods?
Address of the dolphinarium: 1/5 Moo 9, Chalong, Muang, Phuket. You can examine the exact location on the map below.
You can reach the dolphinarium in the same way as the zoo, as they are located in the same area. More precisely, the options are as follows:
- Public transportation;
- A rented scooter or car;
- A guided tour;
- A transfer provided by the dolphinarium.
Regarding public transportation, the advice is clear — avoid it. It’s better to take a taxi or book a transfer from the dolphinarium than to travel several hundred meters on one bus, make a transfer, and continue your journey on another. It’s cumbersome and not worthwhile. In fact, public transport in Thailand is particularly underdeveloped on Phuket.
As for transfers arranged by tour operators, group transfers are not too expensive — 200 baht per person, provided that departures are made from the following beaches:
- Patong.
- Bang Tao.
- Karon.
- Kamala.
What about an individual transfer? It will cost approximately 1,500–1,800 baht, depending on the distance. There are no restrictions here, as you can book it from any point on Phuket.
If you’re renting a scooter or car, follow this route:
From the Chalong circle, head towards Phuket Town. Continue until you reach the second traffic light, then turn right, and after 5–7 minutes, your destination will be on the right-hand side.
Another tip: don’t arrive too early; it’s better to get there 10–15 minutes before the show begins, otherwise you’ll end up waiting in the heat.
In conclusion, the Phuket Dolphinarium Nemo is a place where your child will be ecstatic, so if you’re in Phuket, missing it is unthinkable.
